Dean's Office by Amy Takayama-Perez

Spring is officially here and, along with warmer weather, has brought in 40 counselors from around the globe who are visiting our campus from Mar 24 – 26 for our 4th semi-annual Patriot Fly-In! As part of the program, the counselors get to visit our campus, learn about our programs and community, meet with Mason staff and faculty and tour Washington, DC. It is our hope that they return back home with wonderful memories and share their experience with their students, friends, family members and basically everyone they know!
From Mar 14 – 17 many of us took our love for Mason to the road for our 5thMason Road Show! During our 4 day journey, we hosted events and met with future Patriots from Philadelphia, New Jersey, Long Island and Boston. We were also joined by many Mason Ambassadors who were home for Spring Break, their parents and amazing alums. It takes a village to pull off the Road Show!
Thank you to those of you who joined us for the Enrollment Management Showcase on Mar 19. A copy of the slides presented by David Burge, Vice President for Enrollment, is attached for your review. Special congrats to the members of the SOP Admissions/IEM working group who received the inaugural Team award, and our very own Selina Kirwan who was recognized for her outstanding contributions to our division and Mason community.

Operations by Andrew Bunting
All teams within Admissions Operations have been busy in their respective areas supporting our applicants and new students. As previously mentioned, the Fall 2019 transfer application is open, and the transfer team is working diligently on the GAA and other early applications. We have two open positions on the Domicile Team and are actively working to fill those.
The Transfer Credit Evaluation team continues to do amazing work by efficiently and accurately evaluating transfer credit for all of our new students. They are currently working on Fall 2019 admits and IEs. Over the course of the past month, Credit Evaluation has realized a MAJOR process enhancement in that we are now able to evaluate admitted students and, prior to them submitting an IE, communicate with them about their credit evaluation and transfer credits. Major thanks to everyone involved on making this a reality. The Document Center continues to be a model of efficiency as well, processing documents with minimal delays or issues. The Document Center staff has expanded to fill empty positions, and a new evening shift has finally been established to help ensure that we stay on top of document loading and coding. Further, the document center has taken on increased responsibilities with assisting with GMUK documents. We have also developed a new process for merging and tracking duplicate G-numbers.
The Graduate Operations team is busy working on Fall 2019 applicants. The Spring 2019 audit is almost complete, with less than 200 files not exited from the audit. As a reminder, this is the LAST major task to be conducted in Radius before the system starts to shut down (total shutdown is slated for August). Updates are constantly being made to improve the system. Major thanks to Crystal and the Specialists for helping to continue to document current processes to ensure functionality within the new system. Within the past month, files have begun to launch, automatically, into the review tool once they are complete.
The INTO Mason team is looking forward to welcoming our newest staff member, Jaquelin “Jaqui” Casallas, so that we can be fully staffed. We continue to look for areas where we can find efficiencies, as well as ensure that our communication with INTO is as clear as possible. Additionally, and with the assistance of the International Team and the Admissions Technology Team, we are currently working to improve the Undergraduate Global Application, while planning for the Graduate Global Application. Several meet-and-greet, as well as several working sessions, including a day-long meeting with INTO Leadership, have been conducted to get the team on the same page.

As always, please let us know if we can assist you in any way.
